Franbird
Hi, my husband is a gas fitter i am an accountant we have three children (one has mild CP-from waistdown) she is now 14 nearly 15 and has been signed off years ago from any help- OT, CAHMS, speech and Language , BABS, etc, shes had her leg surgery all done last year to release her muscles, all a success she walks with a crutch. Now as her disability is one that can only get better , not worse and she only requires one more year of schooling what are our chances?? i am thinking of getting a private OT report to say,she requires no services etc.as i have all her documents to show she has been signed off. I was inspired by a post of someone who said they did it all themselves with panel doctor and reports and got in (because they think by not involving lots of specialist solicitors your not flagging yourself as a problem) any advice ?? going for a 189 skillled visa for hubby she will need help in school for the final year as she is behind her peers. I strongly suggest that you approach a good migration agent first. Also, be aware that school does not finish at 16 years old in Australia, each state has different requirements as to what participation is required and the form it takes. Guest
George Lombard is probably the one most people will recommend for medical issues and visa applications.
Guest
And yes, what was said about schooling, the age will vary and I am not sure what support level you would be looking at depending on where you are looking to move to or if you would get much at all. Nemesis
Any you can recommend - I spoke to Lombard - but all agents is see just want to take their your money with no care of you get the visa or not Some actually care about getting a good deal for the clients and don't spin you a yarn. As Snifter says ,on medical stuff George Lombard is one of the best. Forget the stuff about 'not flagging yourself as a problem ' - DIBP don't care if you see yourself as a problem, they care about what the medical reports say. No need for loads of 'specialist solicitors' either. Get a good agent to advise you on how to approach the medical, and on what kind of reports are needed. ABG
I think the professional advice route is the way to go. Getting the medicals first has its short-comings as your initial entry date will be 12 months from the date of the medical, and your visa may take some time to progress due to its complexity.
