nicolo Posted January 20, 2017 Share Posted January 20, 2017 My friend is planning to lodge a secondary 457 visa for her spouse he s currently working in Japan and has been there for 2 years so we assume he would need a Japanese police clearance. My friend has the following questions: 1. Japan police won't issue a clearance without a letter of request from DIBP. Does DIBP automatically send the letter of request for Japan Police clearance or do we have to write DIBP to ask for this letter? How long after lodement of the dependent 457 visa could we expect to receive this letter of request for Japan police clearance? 2. We heard that the Japan police clearance will come in a sealed envelope and addressed to Australian Immigration. Since visa applications are lodge through immiaccount, are we allowed to open the sealed envelope yo scan and upload or do we have to physically mail it yo DIBP?
