dingdong
Does anyone know if sending tea leaves from Australia to the UK is allowed? Would love to send some back home for family from a gorgeous little tea shop I found, but can't find the info online.
scuffythetugboat
Think it through. You are going to send "tea leaves" through the post. You will have to declare exactly what is inside your parcel/package on a sticker attached to the parcel/package. Probably all the red flags on the Australian and UK customs systems will be activated. Is it worth it?
Guest
If its sealed in commercially wrapped packaging with an ingredients label it may make it through, it may not. Depends if they scan or check everything as they do here in Aus. I don't think they do. TBH if you send it it'll be the cost of the item and shipping to you if it doesn't make it through. I've shipped hand made chocolates and fudge overseas in the shops packaging with ingredients listing and its never been an issue.
Dragonflygecko
I don't think the UK is as strict as Australia although I wouldn't risk it as they probably will open it up and investigate what exactly it is.
Diane
I regularly order tea from Dilmah in Sri Lanka and that arrives here ok. It's in tea bags though so maybe loose leaves might be different. Why not ask in the shop if they ship overseas?
