Letters for medical

So I have booked my visa medical today. But as I have pre-existing conditions I have to take a letter from my GP (who manages them). Do you know what they want in the letter, as my GP will ask me and I will likely have to pay for it and don't want him to have to do it twice.

Also after some advice. I have 2 conditions that are variable. I have had time off sick with them in the past year but when I am doing okay they do not stop me working full time. They do have periods of relapse though. Do you think this will affect my medical outcome? I'm working part time at the moment building it back up to full time but I don't claim any benefits or have any help. I am just managed with medication by my GP. Any thoughts?

Thank you

TK

You've maybe left it a bit late to be asking.

Its hard to know what to say tbh. You may not need a letter or anything. My medical issues I just reeled off to the panel doctor, he thumped the answers into his computer and that was it. My medical got referred but I wasn't asked to provide any further info or anything, it was given the green light once someone looked it over.

I had to get letters doneway back when we applied due to a medical condition i have. I asked my specialist at the hospital to write it and he just stated what my condition was, where i was at with it, what procedures i had undergone , what medication i was on and my latest test results etc. He also included his email which he gave me too and i am so glad he did, as once i had a specilaist here they needed some info from him.

I've got time. Medical booked in today for the 16th November. Seeing GP next week, hence asking so I can give him guidance

It's hard without knowing what conditions you have. You may need a specialist to write something rather than a dr. I did but that was for cancer. If you do have a specialist then contact their reception asap and ask them to do you a letter stating what you have, how it is managed, and don't forget future prospects, ie will you be able to continue working, is your future treatment going to be expensive. Etc.
