SerenaJ
Has anyone brought over an Isofix or non-Isofix car seat to Australia, and did they have issues at customs. We are talking to two international removals companies. One of them says Isofix is an issue but the other one we have will be OK to take across. The other one says no UK car seats comply with Health and Safety regulations in Australia so cannot be brought in. Does anyone have any experience of this please? Quoll
Unless They have the Aus tick of approval they are illegal so don't bother to bring them but buy new in Australia
SerenaJ
Thanks. What constitutes the Aus tick of approval? Is there something we need to check if the seats comply with? Or are you saying that they def won't comply if they've not been manufactured in Aus?
Londonpom
It looks like it... I have Maxi Cosi to European Standards but definitely no AUS tick... http://www.maxi-cosi.com/au-en/car-seats/car-seat-safety/car-seat-laws-and-regulations/australia-laws-standards.aspx As Quoll stated above. Thats 2 seats not travelling with me! Approval labels around the world Australia | Australian Standard AS 1754 | New Zealand | New Zealand Standard NZS 1754 The Australian and New Zealand Standard label, also known as the 'five ticks' approval, indicates reliability, quality assurance and safety as the product’s most valuable attributes. This older thread explains more.......... http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/transport-shipping/123214-car-seats-australia-what-you-need-know.html Edited September 8, 2016 by Londonpom additional info
SerenaJ
Thanks. That helps clarify things. So that's 2 car seats definitely not coming with us either! :-)
Guest
Unless its been tested in Aus to Aus standards and gotten the Aus approval, its not legal to use in Aus. Plus Aus uses the top tether on all seats.
