There has been much change over the last few months with regards taking your pets to Australia. At last, the only quarantine station available is a shiny new facility just north of Melbourne, so we have to fly all the pets into Melbourne and from there they can be transported to your final destination in Australia or you can collect them and fly them yourself or do an epic road trip, if you have time. With regards to routes, there are quite a few routes available with QANTAS, Emirates and Singapore Airlines. Each route has its advantages and disadvantages. The basic rules for entry are still the same and the most important thing to note is the fact that the pets have to start their rabies vaccinations at least 7 months before they want to fly, so if you are considering flying your cats and dogs then you do need to start as early as possible to ensure there is no lengthy wait in UK before they can fly out.
