Guest BackpackerJobs
Hi there, We are looking for a live- in Au Pair/Housekeeper in Noosa to start as soon as possible. We have a 2 year old son and a newborn due at the end of April. We have a lovely house in the suburb of Tewantin next to a beautiful park and shops and are close to the river and walking/cycling paths. We are about 5 minute’s drive from main beach and Hastings Street, and it is approx. 1hr 30 minute car ride into the city of Brisbane. Noosa is a popular holiday destination north of Brisbane approx. 25 minutes to an airport, 1 hr and a half from an international airport and has many buses going to different destinations due to the large amount of backpackers who visit. Duties include all aspects of caring for a toddler and some help with the newborn. This includes preparing some family meals, washing and putting away laundry, tidying up toys, playing games, educational activities, going for walks and to the park, general helping out around the house and having fun. A drivers licence is not required. There is a focus on housekeeping also. Those who are not prepared to do household chores need not apply (sorry!). Good energy, a positive and calm attitude and outlook on life and reliability are essential and we try to practise peaceful parenting so would like someone gentle and caring who loves spending time with children. Our family business is a busy surf shop so if the Au pair has an interest in surfing there are plenty of boards to choose from and Noosa has many water sports on the river and at the beaches. We are a very easy going family and have a lovely circle of friends. None of our extended family live close by and we are a very close-knit small family who does most things together. You would work 40 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday (mornings and evenings) in exchange for accommodation, meals, utility bills, computer and internet access (not wireless) and weekly pocket money. You have your own lovely private fully furnished bedroom with TV and DVD player and share a bathroom with the toddler. We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy and committed to the care of our children and home. We are a very relaxed household, and you will need to be organised, tidy, flexible and proactive. Your English must be good enough to communicate with the toddler independently of another adult. We would prefer a minimum of 5-6 months commitment but will consider 3 months. If this interests you please email maree.oconnor@hotmail.com with your resume/contact details and experience and we can arrange to discuss further. I can also send you further details on our family, environment and Au Pair schedule. Thank you Apply Online
