Indianinoz Posted March 18, 2015 Share Posted March 18, 2015 How common are Solar Panels in Tasmania. I've heard from Skani that a few homes and offices do have solar panels in Hobart, but how much? Any statistics? How random are they? Like 1 in a 100 homes or like 1 in 10 homes or like 1 in 2 homes? And what is the status outside of Hobart in the rest of Tasmania? I believe Tasmania would have the least no. of solar panels and solar projects when compared to the rest of Australia simply because it receives least sun light. Is this correct? Is this correct? Actually, at some times of the year (eg midsummer) it receives more sunlight than some other parts of Australia. But on an annual average it's not much different from the rest of southern Australia and the east coast of New South Wales. In 2007-08 it accounted for 2% of Australia's solar energy consumption - which is consistent with its population size (ie 2% of the Australian population). canadianaussie Posted March 19, 2015 Share Posted March 19, 2015 An interesting fact - every spot on the earth, ranging from the arctic to the equator - gets the exact same amount of daylight hours over 1 year. I have heard its been a huge problem with people sensitive to radiation in the west and even in states like Victoria in the main land. I'd advise everyone to not install it. They are very harmful. Am I correct that they can be found in all the 6 other states as well as ACT(Canberra) very frequently?
