Guest mikandjoolz
Has anyone out there had experience with the 457 Temporary business visa. In particular, is it possible to convert to a residency visa once you are working in Oz. We know the fundamentals of this visa but DIMA web site is not very specific about whether it can be converted or not. We are really looking to move lock, stock and barrel to Oz but it seems a bit risky to pack up and go on this type of visa on the off chance it may become permanent, or is it just that we are not that brave. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
Lynne2007
Hi, We are going out on a 457 sponsored visa and can get permanent residency after 12 month being there but you have to reapply for it but is possible. We are going to apply for it after 12 months or so. Hope this helps. Lyne & Tony
Guest Anna
We had to came over with a Subclass Visa 457 last year September. October, last year we applied for our Permanent Recidense and was lodged on 23 January 2007. So, I think there can't be a problem with this.
