We'd rather not sell it before we go (hopefully this September) and therefore avoid making a huge loss! The problem is that this would mean shipping the car to Australia. We've had a couple of quotes (around £1400) but these do not include the costs incurred at the other end in order to get it ready for the Australian roads. Does anybody have any information or experience they might be willing to share? What would customs etc. charge to admit the vehicle? Its UK value is between £10 and £11k. connaust Posted January 28, 2007 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Try http://www.drive.com.au for an idea of Oz prices....personally....like above...sell it and look again in Oz e.g. sometimes in Oz, I know Toyota especially, they include special dust proofing and the suspension has been modified to cope with the bush. Guest Nelson Posted January 28, 2007 Share Posted January 28, 2007 In order to import a vehicle, ou have to have it steam cleaned - inside, outside and engine - the tyres also have to be free of any traces of earth. Then there's the import duty, the rego, the road-worthy certificate and the modifications mentioned in the post before this one.
