Guest ABCDiamond
If you are considering the question "Electrical Goods - Bring or buy new ?" You can check out some comparison prices at: The Good Guys Where it says "Less For Cash" that is often about 12% discount. You need to enter a postcode to get the local prices: 2000 does Sydney, 3000 Melbourne, 4000 Brisbane, 5000 Adeliade. also The Electric Discounter shows some prices, but I am sure they would be negotiable, as most things like this are
starlight7
You can bring stuff and use an adaptor for UK plugs- but electrical goods are very cheap so it may not be worth it. There are heaps of really cheap discount stores around and you can buy stuff in the big stores like K Mart and Big W and Target where they often have 15% or even 25% off. Also- Aldi the newish German supermarket is really really cheap for electrical goods.
Guest ABCDiamond
You can bring stuff and use an adaptor for UK plugs- On that point, bring a few UK 4 or 6 gang adaptors to use before you get around to changing all your plugs. Just change the one on the adaptor first, to allow time for the rest. It can be surprising just how plugs you may need to change Go on, have a quick look ( I just did, and reached 25 before looking upstairs) They will also be useful for those items that you have with UK power adaptors that you cannot change.
