Hello guys!

First of all I wish all applicants good luck with their applications.

I am applying for 186 ENS - TRS, on the 5th of February 2017, this is when I will complete my 2nd year with my employer. Everything is ready and all the necessary documents are gathered.

I got 2 questions, first one is IELTS related. Now that the IELTS test results are valid for 3 years, I am OK until 14.07.2017 as I took my test back in July 14th 2014 and scored well above the requirement for this particular visa type.

I got 2 friends who applied for the same visa type and got it within 6 to 8 months. As far as I can see in the posts, you guys also confirm that.

1) The question is, I will apply in February the 5th, my IELTS will be ok then, however it will take say 6 to 8 months for me to get the visa (if all goes all right) and my IELTS Test result will expire while my application is in progress ( I don’t think I will get it earlier than July 14th…), so will DIAC ask me to re-sit the exam?

Or, because it was valid in the time of the application, I will be fine???

2) Does my employer have to wait 2 years as well, in order to submit the nomination?

Your replies will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hello DERSIMLI :)

I wish you all the best for your application and you can get without any problem. So for the IELTS, in my opinion when lodged the application if your IELTS score is valid then I dont think so it will be problem even if CO allocated to your case after 14th July. But I advise to you get a proffesional support about this issue because I'm not a MA.

For the second question

As far as I know the day your employer start paying tax -super ,from that day you have to add 2 years. You also have to consider that UNPAID annual leaves etc..

Good lucks DERSIMLI

Hi Syd38;

Thanks for your quick reply, I really appreciate that.

I will try to consult a migration officer as you advised on IELTS.

There is one more thing though, I had had an active working visa when I joined my company (I had had 1 year on my 476 visa), so when it was about to expire, my company applied for 457 and I continued my stay here in Australia.

So it looks like this, I started working for them in April 2014, in Feb 2015 I got 457 as the other visa was expiring, so when do you think that 2 years start from;

a) April 2014 (my first day in the company),

or

b) Feb 2015 (my first day in the company on 457)

I know it sounds tricky :)

Cheers!

P.S Anyone else is welcomed to answer this as well :)

Did you call the Immigration Department? They are still allocating Feb to June but once you have been waiting for more than 9 months, it looks like you can ring them to check.

Below is the status of the spreadsheet, i.e. the percentage of finalised applications by month. Keep in mind it's only a small portion of the whole applications.

Hi Harry,

We all seem to be getting similar feedback from Dept and/or our MAs in that the Dept is processing applications submitted between Feb and June but there is no intel available regarding when an individual application will be allocated to a CO for processing.

Hi everyone, I spoke to IMMI to ask - over 9 1/2 months wait for us now. The person I spoke to noted that I shouldn't worry as they have had delays due to volume and some staff have been on leave but are returning now.

She mentioned that they are still working on March cases (I guess as far as cases similar to mine are concerned?? DE??) and that with the current load, a month is the minimum (with a disclaimer that it's just a guesstimate) for CO allocation for April files. Yet the spreadsheet shows grants up to June and beyond. Granted it's a small snapshot given the actual volume of applications, it's still perplexing. It's hard not to feel anxious.

I'm also now wondering if she meant in a month as in roughly 4 more weeks for even a CO, or perhaps by February (we're nearly there!) - wish we had details on the spreadsheet indicating probable timelines from the time a case is allocated to a CO, ie. when documents are requested VS when none are, etc. - does anyone have any idea?

So does it mean that direct entry applications still take time to get co allocated? When I rang immi last time in December they said DE applications takes approx 9-10 months. Really pissed off don't know when they gonna start allocating May DE applications.

@Izzielizzie - No idea - I don't think people get notified when a CO is allocated to their case. They only get notified when the CO ask for something or just communicates the decision.

A friend of mine got her PR granted yesterday while her MA told her she would not have it before March... And she just got the news without being told anything else before yesterday.

This is utterly frustrating and feels like a very unfair process. It does not seem to even look at how long you have been working in the country. Which is very stupid because the longest you are here, the more integrated you are in the country.

I hear ya - been working in Aus a long time (and with my employer well over two years) and thought ours was pretty straightforward given everything. Seems certain occupations get approved quicky, or perhaps it's just luck. The vagueness of it all is probably the biggest source of frustration. Hopefully it's not too long now..but I've been saying that since October ha ha!

When did your friend lodge and was it via TRN or DE?

By the way, take the CO allocation timeline I noted in my previous post with a grain of salt. Last December I was advised that there was a chance of a Dec or Jan allocation. Guess my head needs another vacation from all this - just getting harder!

@Harry1989 Several May DE applications have already been approved. And if you look the spreadsheet through, timelines differ.

There are conflicting feedback about everything, so it does not look we will ever know what's going on.

She was transition (I added her case in the spreadsheet) but again, I do not think it is related to this, I think it's pure perception because we are DE.

Some DE get approved in 6 months, some transition take a year.

It could be the occupation but again some marketing specialists got approved in 6 months.

I agree with you, the vagueness is really what makes the anxiety growing. We should be given a deadline after 6 months wait, especially when we have been working in the country for several years and therefore contributing to the growth of the Australian economy.

I now need to apply for a visa to be allowed to visit my family in Europe while I have been working here for 4 years and a half, paying taxes etc.

If they do prioritise transition visa, this is quite hilarious because DE visa like us, onshore and working here for a certain amount of time, have been through skill assessment.
