Looking at the Skillselect pages on DIAC it says successful EOI applicants will be chosen on a "regular" basis such as "every month" which seems to give the impression it may vary. They do not seem to want to tie themselves down yet I guess they are still 'tweaking' the system - hopefully the process will become clearer nearer to 1 July.

It is unknown how often they will be putting out invtations for Skillselect - when Skillselect was first announced they stated that first invitations were not going to be until Jan 2013 then early this year this had changed to Aug 2012. There was a facebook chat last week - someone asked the same question and they still couldnt answer it.

Does anyone know when you submit your EOI, do you get a result right away telling you which visa DIAC are invitng you to apply? or once submitted they get back to you in 30/60/90 days?

No, you do not get invited straight away.

The information used on the EOI will be used to rank candidates, meaning that simply meeting the points requirement for the visa does not guarantee that you will get invited.

The Department will periodically invite the highest ranked candidates to fill the quota for that specific invitation period.

Where you need to be careful is that if invited, the claims you have made on the EOI must be able to be substantiated at Time of Invitation. If your EOI claims are incorrect the visa application may be refused even if you meet the points.

Hi lynne

And you can apply for state sponsorship also

if u have ielts skill assessment and required points is 60

if ur occupation is on the skilled occupation list

me too a 457 holder

Its better to seek for alternate options to get pr quicker

its not fair be in 457 if you have all the required qualification
