Looking to chat to others in the Merseyside area, who like ourselves have been come back and are considering going back again!

Been back in not so sunny St Helens for over 2 years now and are looking to return to Perth in a couple of years, got an older daughter who is currently studying for her A levels so feel it would be unfair to move back again until she has completed them.

would love to hear from others in similar position as Im sure I'm not alone dare i say in being a ping pong pom

Hello

We are from the Wirral, weighing up Sydney v's Perth, have job offers for both for me (not the main breadwinner) so in a bit of dilemma.

How did you find Perth with a teenager ? I have little kids and one coming up for 12 so would be really keen to hear your thoughts.

Thanks

PP

Hello PomPrincesses

My two daughters were aged 12 and 9 when we first went over, they both settled really quickly and made friends in school. we lived in the northern suburbs so had easy access to beach, open spaces and as we had a pool they would often just hang out around the house/garden, the cinemas and local shopping centre was a 20 minute drive away so often depended on us for lifts ect to meet up with friends further a field. They never did the hanging around on corners thing!

On a weekend if we were invited to a BBQ they came with us so we had a lot of family time socialising together.

For your little ones there are plenty of play parks especially northern suburbs in the newer estates.

My oldest daughter now 20 has struggled to settle back here and has booked a one way ticket back to Perth for October!

Hope this helps, have you been to either place for a look around? Have you got your Visa?

Hi VickyMary

We've been back a year now and not settled. I think it's tough for children coming back, but they adapt. We were in Melbourne but travelled to Perth and liked the place a lot, particularly FreMantle and Bunbury.

Going back to Melly next month as IT job market is much better over there for me. I also still think Australia is the best place for us as a family

Guess what, our children are 12 and 9 but we're going for the second time. Makes them international kids I guess.
