MARYROSE02
Driving along Anzac Parade, intending to go to Clovelly or Bronte, on a whim I kept going south through Kensington and Kingsford to Maroubra Junction and turned left on Alma Road. I was half thinking of going to Maroubra Beach then I remembered someone telling me about the pool. It's in a nice spot, hewn out of the rocks near to the ocean. There were people there with kids so it must be good for them too although you've got to watch them of course. I don't think I've ever swum here before and I walked up the coastal path towards Coogee which I've also not done before. I think you might be able to continue beyond the path along the rocks as I could see steps leading up further along. I've never walked to Coogee although I've walked from Coogee to Bondi. What is the capital of Menorca? Is that called Mahon? Mao? Or both? The angler is looking north towards Coogee and Bondi (with Clovelly, Bronte & Tamaram somewhere in between.) Guest The Pom Queen
Looks lovely, what is the temp like in the water?
MARYROSE02
It was very pleasant, no problem going in anyway. Sometimes in the sea you can hit a cold patch even in summer. It never seems quite like going in The Med! I can swim all year round although I never stay in for very long.
daveg1980
Yeah its Mahon! I used to go to Menorca every year with family!
MARYROSE02
The water temperature is pretty good at this time of the year but it still feels slightly cool when you first stick your toes in. I went to Redleaf last night and it was wonderful but then so was North Narrabeen the night before that, and Bronte in the rain the night before that! MARYROSE02
Yeah its Mahon! I used to go to Menorca every year with family! I went there in September, 1997, for the first time. It was nice but a bit quiet for me on my own although I hired a car and went all over the island - which reminds me a little in its outline of Australia.
