Estate Agent fee's?

Hi All,

Just had another estate agent round today as we want to go multi-agency.

They quoted me 2% agency fee for multi-agency and wouldnt budge - just wondered what everyone has managed to negotiate?

Thanks
Angelcake

hi there

we were going to go multi and they were going to charge 1.8% we have it at 1.5%

sole at the mo so did not bother just given them there 2 weeks notice and going to

put it up on the net with www.thelittlehousecompany.co.uk they charge £89 and no

fees still reading up on it but just over £100 you get a board as well so once our time

is up with EA then using them have a look before you tie yourselfs up.

if you do go with an EA get an 8 or 12 week contract go sole then knock them down if

they want dont have them ours would not move at 1st but think they are deserate

for custom.......

I managed to get a fixed fee which if we had sold at 200,000 worked out at 1.75 and they have stayed at the fixed fee when we went multi

All the agents I had round agreed to go on the fixed fee deal on a multi agent basis except one who held out for 2%

The EA are between a rock and a hard place as are the sellers the only winners are buyers

good luck getting a lower fee

we have been on with House Ladder for ages and have had no interest what so ever

Good luck

Karen

The 4 agents I had round quoted 1.25% & 1 at 1.0% for sole agency with 0.5% extra for multi agency. No negotiation & no fixed fees.

Personally I wouldn't go for multi-agency, I was advised not to as the EA are less focussed on selling your property if they know they may lose out completely.
