I've been told that once you get to Oz you can only by land or a new build... you CAN'T buy an existing property... Is this correct???

I have been told by VIC estate agents that there are rules in place so that only PR/citizens can buy resale property.
If you have PR visa you won't have a problem buying any property, not that they check your status in my experience.

So we're planning on going down the WA State Sponsorship route, so this is a PR visa and I'll be ok to buying anything... is that right??
