What do you and your husband do as occupations?
Perth's biggest industries are mining & agriculture, Melbourne's service industries
& Brisbane/QLD is more tourism.

There are pluses of living in Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane areas depending on what you are looking for. I've never been to Perth but I would rate Melbourne over Brisbane every time. Having said that I am single & I don't have kids so my circumstances are a lot different to yours.

I think the answer depends on what your lifestyle is like?

There are good and bad areas of Brisbane and Melbourne. If you like being outdoors and enjoying a swimming pool/beach lifestyle then there are places around Brisbane. North and South of Brisbane are very nice. South East QLD is one of the highest growth areas in the market right now. I suggest you have a look at a place called North Lakes.

If you're a travel agent then you're more than likely going to end up working for Flightcentre as they've basically got the whole Oz market sown up. Fortunately they have branches all over Oz, the're at least 4 in the Melbourne CBD!
