House swap anyone? going to Uk for Christmas (We live in melbourne )

Just putting the feelers out! We have a 3 bedroom house in Mooroolbark East Melbourne and will be going back to the UK for Christmas. We are leaving on the 22nd Dec and returning on the 3rd Jan 09.

We would ideally like somewhere in wiltshire (we used to live in Bradford on Avon) or Somerset eg. Wells or surrounding areas.

is anyone interested. I have 2 boys 8 and 11.

Just thought I'd ask in case anyone else was thinking of doing the same thing.

Small world, I was born in Bradford On Avon, my husband comes from Wells and all of our family are in Wiltshire or Somerset. Sorry I can't help with the houseswap but my cousin does run a couple of self-catering cottages at her farm. I can let you have the email if you like. I do envy you, we would like to go back for crimbo but the flights are way too expensive for five of us. Suppose we will sweat it out on the beach !

Hi Blondie. It is a small world! Thanks anyway but we have the offer of staying with the inlaws for a fortnight but if I could find an alternative it would be great........

The in laws have paid for our flights as we couldn't afford it $11,000 plus! Where do you live now?

My 8 year old was born in Bradford on Avon. My husband went to Wells Catherdral School and lived in Bleadney just outside Wells. We still have a cottage in Bradford but can't sell it so just about to rent it.

We are in Sydney, my husband left the Royal Navy and joined the Oz Navy. We have been here since last September. One of his friends bought his first house in Bleadney, a derelict cottage which he renovated in the late eighties and then sold. Nick went to the Blue School in Wells and joined the Navy in 1977. I have lived in Bath, Chippenham, Cheddar, Torpoint, Tavistock and Totton (that's life married to a sailor) !!

We've lived in BAth, Bradford and Weston Super Mare.

We'll have to meet up for a coffee if we ever get to Sydney!

I used to work in WSM at the local Police Station !! In the intelligence office of all places, out of curiosity how much are you asking for the cottage in Bradford and can you give a description of it please.

I worked in Bristol Police Stations and WSM police Station as police Custody Nurse! Strange!!!

It is up for £250k It is on rightmove Bath Road. Basically it is a two bedroom terrace cottage. We have just had confirmation today that we have some long term tenants. anyway, feel free to have a look. It is on with 'Kingstons'.

Thanks for that info, I will take a look. Husband is looking at different financial positions at the moment and is interested in buying a second property (maybe). Strange coincidences between us, I also worked at Bath Police Station, the Process Dept from 82 - 87 and then a year at WSM, 98 -99. I wonder if we know any of the same PC's ? I have to say that those two jobs were the best ones, I worked with some really lovely people and it was never dull !!
