Sydney or Melbourne?

Hey,

I understand there is a certain rivalry between the people of Sydney & Melbourne, but I would be interested to hear the opinions of some impartial expats who perhaps have experience of both.

I recently visited Sydney and came home with a couple of job offers. I'm seriously considering relocation, but my own (limited) research whilst still on holiday would suggest that Melbourne is better than Sydney and that it can be quite difficult to make friends in Sydney. Other things that came up were traffic, parking and a poor public transport system.

I know it's all subjective but, considering it's the other side of the world, I would like to try and make as informed a decision as possible. Does anyone have any comments?

Cheers,

Mo
