3 week rental in Mornington/Mount Martha??

Hi,
Can anyone recomend a one bedroom rental for three weeks in the Mornington/Mount Martha area.
We are at present going through the process of trying for our visa's, and OH is getting a bit concerned now, with never being before whether we will like it or not, and is concerned if we sell everything and unsettle the girls and we get there and it is not really for us. So he is now thinking about going over and having an info break, getting to see the area people kindly recomend on this site.
We have decided the Mornington Pernisula, as there seems to be good feed back on this area.
We only need a one bedroom rental as the girls are staying with their grandparents to allow us to really concentrate on getting as much info as possible.
We are hoping to fly out on the 4th October roughly and staying for the three weeks. (hope this is enough time to find out stuff!!!)
Would really appreciate any kind of advice/info.
Thanks in advance.
Andi.

mandamoose is on a distinguished road
Hi Andi

I have a new 2 bedroom townhouse available for October in Berwick. It doesn't take long to get to Mount Martha from there, and you may also want to consider Berwick as its great for families and housing is more reasonable than the peninsula.

Let me know your email address and I will forward photos and details.

Thanks
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
Thanks for the reply.
My OH and I have done alot of talking over the weekend, and alot of pricing for us to come over, and we have come to the conclusion that is will be really expensive, and not sure if 3 weeks would have been enough!! If money was not an issue at this stage then we would definately want to come over, but with all the outlays in trying to get our visa, and the difficulties we have had along the way we can not make the sums work out. Also with everything that has been going on, we have been going through this journey as a family, and I felt bad leaving the girls behind, and there was no way we could have afforded to take them too, so we have decided to go on a well earned family holiday instead so we can spend valuable time with the girls, and it is ALOT cheaper!!!
Thanks again for taking the time to reply, and if you do not mind, I would be interested in what you have to say about where you are, as you can imagine I hope, that not being able to afford to come over and have a look, we are really just going by word of mouth, and what people kindly tell us on this site.
We are a family of four, our daughter's are 8 and 4, so would be looking for good school, and a place that was good for families. We are not wishing to live in the middle of nowhere, ideally we would love to be in a small community type place where the girls can go out and play with other kids, something like a cul-de-sac estate if possible, as here in Scotland we live on the main road and have no front garden, so the girls are stuck in our back garden all the time and we have to watch what they do out the front when going out the front door. OH is a carpenter/joiner so would need to find him work also.
Look forward to hopefully hearing from you soon.
Take care, and thanks.
Andi.
