Leeda, Kwinana

Hi all,

Please can anyone give me some advice on the area Leeda, in Kwinana. We have the chance of a rental for 12 months there when we arrive but do not know the area at all. We were led to believe that a lot of avoriginal peole live there and not many brits or Australian people. We also thought Kwinana was very industrialised and not residential at all.
Please could anyone advise on things like primary and senior schools and colleges.
Local facilities, crime rates and the like please.
Any advice will be most welcome. Also does anyone live there or is it a place to avoid.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Shez

in answer to your question Leda, Kwinana is part Industrail ,the nickel refinary and Bp oil refianary is around there, There are alot of new builds(homes) being done ,the locals refer to it as abbo central ,so yes alot of abogrianls live there.basically because us brits want the nicer area, near to the beach.where it is more expensive. where abouts is your rental as a good idea is to purchase the local A to Z ( gregory's street directory of Perth and surrounds) you can buy it on the internet. this helps.
We went on a scouting mission first, 3 1/2 weeks of looking at everything.
areas, housing, shops, schools etc etc
It's helped us , we ,well I go over in August/ September ,then family follow .
Primary schools in the area are:-leda primary, local new build anglican school
good site to visit for school info is :- The Department of Education and Training
go to education and then schools on line.
lists about 768 schools both primary and secondary. some you can then log onto their own website

hope this is helpful
