Renting or Buying on the Sunshine Coast

We have moved to the Sunshine Coast recently and found the rental procedure very difficult without the correct info!!!!!Also buying a property has loads of rules and regulations. If you are coming out and need help let me know as I have made lots of enquiries and now have contacts who can help!!!!!!
It's great if you have the correct paperwork!!!!!!!!

I thought to get a rental all you needed was to pass a 100 points id test.
Below are

The system is based on 100 points, made up of any of the following:
10 points Birth Certificate, Medicare Card,
Motor Vehicle Registration
papers

30 points Bank Statement, recent utility bill, gas, phone, electric

40 points Drivers Licence (UK is OK),
passport, last 4 rent receipts

In additional you may need to supply proof of your
income (last 2 pay
slips). You may be required to show your letter of
employment and
confirmation of salary.

Or pay 6 months rent upfront!

Hi Geegriff,
If you come up to the Mooloolaba/Maroochdore area let me know as I have contacts to get you discounted 2/3 week holiday rentals. Also for long term rentals make sure that you have ID for all people who will be living at the property(passport no problem), driving licences, your last bank Australian bank statement with transfered funds if poss,if not your last bank statement showing all funds from the Uk, good luck!!!!!Enjoy!!!

Hi there,
Bli Bli is great, we are building a house on Parklakes which is a really nice estate,it's not all rammed together like most of them and everyone seems to really look after their homes. Rental can be a pain as you don't have any rental history and they aren't many on the Sushine Coast. The main thing is that you have an Australian bank statement with transfered funds, if not you last UK bank statement showing all of your funds, this will show that you can pay your rent, you will have the other proof of ID such as passports and driving licences.Where are you staying when you get here? Let me know if you need a short holiday let as I have contacts for discounted rates, keep in touch if you need any other info
Good luck and we should get together when you get here!!!!!

Red face

catching up here.....time flies.....may 2008 has arrived,
Caboolture..on the sunshine coast of qld...a lot of new estates are going in and are in the process of building more....we are 20 min from the beach at bribie island..25 to Redcliffe....20 to the mountains..and about 35-40 to brisbane city...pretty good spot for the weather..not cold..but not stinking hot either...gets a bit warm...average rental is about 280 to 270 a week....can be more, depends on your taste..

take care all...always got the jug on..
