hotel or holiday rental?

Any advice? due to arrive in sydney in june, want to rent asap but have heard that this can sometimes be a long process. is it better to book a hotel for a week or so or a holiday rental for a month before we find a rental?

Hi
We have been here for just over 4 weeks now and have booked 6 weeks holiday accommodation. The first 2 weeks were purely to get over the upheavel of leaving the UK and we have just secured a 6 month rental. If you can I'd give yourselves a few weeks in which to get a more permenent rental as it can be time consuming and you may not be able to get something right away

If you have kids i would definately recommend a short term let/holiday rental for 3 or 4 weeks. We always said if we had been in an hotel with the kids we would have argued our way back to the Uk.Its very stressful the first few weeks and bloody hard work at least with a house or apartment you have abit more room to move .If you have no kids then id possibly go for an hotel if it was cheaper.

We went holidaylettings.co.uk . but if you google holidauy lets there are many sites. We are in a holiday let ( while weekend ) , you might find find finding a long term rentals, you have to be physically there to sort a rental, its strange they have 15 minute viewings for every one and the landlords take their choice . There are plenty in Perth but the price of rentals are high

Hope hou get sorted

Stayz - No 1 in Holiday Accommodation Rentals are pretty good for short term holiday lets. We have used them several times. You definitely do not want to be renting something long term, sight unseen, even if you could. The pics on the websites are often highly misleading and you really do want to know what the neighbourhood is like! The news reports about Sydney rentals do indeed indicate a long process!

Yes

We found a 1 month rental through Australia migration - suburb profiles, accommodation, schools, real estate, jobs in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Darwin and Hobart, they had plenty on offer where we wanted to live, and the process was easy. We hope that 1 month will give us time to find what we are looking for??????
