Forest Lake is lovely :) 30mins to CBD as you avoid the dreaded M1 and go via ipswich road....hehe

Has small shopping centre, Gym, Private school & state school....officially fully developed but whilst wlaking the other day, guess what...they are doing more development. A nice quiet area of Brisbane & close to work. No railway station here but they have the exress bus to the city though that takes about 55minutes...

living in Brisbane

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone living in Brisbane can advise us? We would like to buy a house over the next 6 months and are currently researching the areas.

My husband needs to be between 30-45 minutes from Brisbane CBD in rush hour.

We are open to all areas, and would love to get some advice on where would be good to live. We have a young family, so schooling is important. We saw from a previous thread, that someone had suggested Manly West. Does anyone live there on this website? What is it like to live in? How long would it take to drive from there to the CBD (my husband will be working in Edward Street)?

Any other areas which you would suggest?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this.[/quote]

Hi,
I live close to Manly West, I live in Wynnum. I would suggest buying close to the Wynnum or Manly area as there is a city train line close to these places. The train trip is 30min to Central station, and much more relaxing than bumper to bumper there and back. Manly West is nice, alot of new housing estates, but little in the way of public transport. Manly,Wynnum is an older area with timber homes. These are designed for the heat, and I prefer these to brick which holds the heat in summer. This area is cool with summer breezes coming from the Bay. A very comfortable home is around $400,000 to $600,00. Have a look at the location on Google maps and see for yourself. I hope to have been of help.
Regards Lynda

Hi,
Michelle, I live in Wynnum West, very close to Lindum station. This area was developed about 25 years ago.
I am from Kent, but Ive been here for years. I have lived in Bris for 10 years now. But will be back in UK for a visit soon.
Cheers Lynda

Hi, come to Wynnum for the day on Sunday there's a selection of about 8 Real Estate agents on Bay terrace. I have noticed prices falling. Check out properties on Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au There's some good Fish and chip shops on the waterfront.
