At long last my blocks have arrived on-site along with a team of blocklayers.............. and they have started to lay them already.

Very impressed thus far with the builder.............. they won't even stop for a cuppa?

Would love a square pool nothing fancy but traditional.

Just extending the patio................ we entertain a lot.

Once that is completed the next phase is to stick a purpose built office up on the block............ I quite like working from home and i don't really want to work out of an office in a shopping centre again.

Once the real estate market picks up i will need to hire more staff.............. as is I have two spots only for sales reps but i'm thinking of expanding the business so i will need a bigger on-site office. I have been offered a rent roll too so i am going to need office space for my new property manager............ plus i'll have to buy her a car.

We had a function here for my clients on January 1st prior to the blocks being delivered............... the booze is part of what was leftover from that event.

The house isn't much.............. honest. it's actually affectionately known as El Dumpo.

Compared to the huge 6 bedroom mansion plus study we built in nearby Golf Links Drive.... just around the corner also at Carramar............... this house is a dump. But.......... it's our dump as it's paid for................... and it's probably worth around the $1.6m mark........ give or take a few bob. Not bad for a plumber from a crappy council house estate in the north west of England.

Our boys hated it at first............... and even went as far as to refuse to get out the car and threw a tantrum, 'We're not living here mum.................. it's a dump............ we're not bringing our friends round here!!!" They soon come round though once they found we have a full size football pitch just down the bottom of the block........... plus 3 or 4 resident kangaroos who come right onto the balcony and knock over the chairs if we don't feed them.

We got them motor-bikes so they can scoot around the fire-break................. their mates visit and they can shoot off into the bush or play cricket/football whatever and not wory about the ball going in the neighbour's garden. Now they like it............. but the El Dumpo tag has stuck!

I've emailed that other project to you Kaye................ have a look see at what has been done so far........... have almost got it finished. It was excellent as was so didn't need too much tweaking............... I just have to refine it in a few spot.

hi bobcat im a blockpaver thinking about relocating over to sunny oz,i take it paviours are hard to come by over there?so what do they charge a metre?could i find work paving/landscaping earning a more than average wage in your opinion,gary[gbpaving] in raining cold county durham

The blocks i am currently getting laid are not paving blocks............ they are dirty great big reconstituted limestone blocks which each weigh 75 kg.

I have just had a new shed put up too and the access to same needs to be brick-paved. i was quoted $40 a metre for laying and various prices per metre for purchase of blocks depending on pattern and grade................. ie foot traffic or automobiles?

I plan to get some prices for liquid limestone as that seems to be all the rage now.......... albeit a bit expensive.

Once my brickie has finished I then have to get a contractor round to lay a slab once all the enclosure has been filled in and compacted. I might even go liquid limestone with that yet?

Heaps of work throughout Perth suburbs for paviours.................... you should get a job standing on your head!
