where is brisbane

Hi everyone

I am hoping for some advice on where to live in Brisbane. My husband is a motor mechanic and we are wondering how easy it will be for him to get work. We will be bringing our 7 month old daughter and our dog and we hope to rent short term and then buy a house (with a pool?).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi i think your hubby will get work in most areas of Brisbane. My hubby is a diesel mechanic and has been offered lots of jobs.Have a look at SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site or AllJobs.com.au - Search for Jobs in Australia both should give you a good idea of the work available.Whilst still in the Uk we got next to no response when contacting companys but once here it was a different story,,hope this helps a bit

Many thanks for the reply. One less thing to give me sleepless nights.

Just the millions of other questions to sort out. Schools, healthcare, finding a house etc. So many people seem to have made it work, i just hope i can.

Thanks

Hi Nancy,

I wonder if I can help with lowering your stress levels?!

I work for a migration agency just North of Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast - I specialise in assisting skilled visa holders find work. It is a free recruitment service (I am from the UK myself and so know just how stressful the whole process is) - If you would like to send me your details and CV I will contact you with some more info khotson@ozgo.com.au
