Advice needed on rental when first arrive in Gold Coast

Recommended Posts

Me , my husband and 2 children, 6&4 will be arriving in the Gold Coast early to middle November time. I have been looking at rentals etc on the internet but would like some advice. How long will we have to book short term accommodation for until we can secure a rental that we like? We are looking at helensvale, arundel, ashmore suburbs anywhere that is nice to bring children up. Any ideas of nice accommodation? Or areas to live? We don't no anybody when we arrive and have never visited before!! Eeeeek! Thanks

You will be best to book 3 or 4 weeks in short term or holiday accommodation. Dont rule out Ashmore Palms the holiday park, lots of newly arrived familys stay in their cabins until they get a rental.

When your here have a good drive around areas and when you find somewhere you like pop into the real estate agents around there and see what they have available or whats coming available in the next few weeks. You will need to inspect and apply for each property you like, so its best to have all your paperwork ready to submit.

Lots of luck with everything and it will be hard to choose a suburb to live as there are so many nice places around the coast, but have fun exploring.

Look at Stayz.com.au for a short term. We booked 3 weeks in Upper Coomera but actually moved into our 'real' rental after a week, as we quickly realised we wanted to be closer to Brisbane for work.

Good luck. There are lots of lovely areas in the Gold Coast.

Ashmore Palms is a good temporary option, we are booked in there for 4 weeks in October. We wanted somewhere to base ourselves that was fully furnished and equipped, along with good facilities and AP fitted the bill perfectly. If you get in quickly, they have some newer style cabins which they call Corporate Cabins, they are available for a minimum of 28 days and cost $490 a week.

We're booked into Ashmore palms for 4 weeks at the end of Sept too. Been recommended a few times on here and good reviews on trip advisor. You can't go wrong with the price to be honest, compared to all the other holiday rentals we were looking at.

Probably see you there! We arrive on a the 14th October after a few days in Singapore.

How do you find out about the corporate cabins as not showing on the Internet, do you have to ring? That is cheap, I have been looking at prices for AP and for the basic villa its £1400 upwards. Which is not bad, but does anyone no odd the basic rooms are ok?

Give them a call or email them. They are very helpful. I found this video of the corporate cabin
