Sydney - location travel times into city?

Dear all,

my family are looking to relocate to Sydney and are not sure where we could live and be near the beach. My husband intends to work in the city ,but I wondered if anyone knew how far we could go within an hours travel near a beach to the city?
thanks
Angela

You could live in Dee-Why or Collaroy (Northern Beaches) where there are loads of Brits. The only transport available is express buses which take 45mins to get in. Other option is to drive in, but that can take the same an would cost a lot more.

Manly is another option and the ferry takes 30mins from Manly to Circular Quay. So again 45mins+ realistically.

Hope that helps.

Jay

Sydney

Hi Angela
We've been in Sydney 8 months now and love it. My daughter commutes into City every day by bus and it takes between 1/2 hr -1 hr depending on traffic. Our nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away so we have best of both worlds. There are lots of lovely suburbs within an hour or so of the City so you will be spoilt for choice depending on weather you want to be north or south?
Good luck with everything and if you want any help/advice feel free to pm me!

Karen
