Hi Trudy,

I think the realestate abbreviations here could be considered a foreign language :)

Just in case it's useful here's some common abbreviations, I hope they help! (Apologies for the formatting, I'm still learning...)

Best wishes, Mel :)

---------------
SLUG – Single lock-up garage
DLUG – Double lock-up garage
GGE, GRG – Variations on garage that don’t specify size
UC – Undercover, usually part of a car parking reference
OSP – Off street parking
‘Sec parking’ – Secure parking
‘Auto’, ‘Remote’ and ‘R/C’- are used to describe car parking that you access with a remote control
ROW – Right of Way (usually used for inner suburb properties that have a rear laneway that provides vehicle access)
WB – Weatherboard
STCA – Subject to council approval
BIR – Built-in ‘robe (wardrobe)
WIR – Walk-in ‘robe (wardrobe)
OP – open plan
ENS – ensuite
BR or B/R – bedroom
DBL BR – Double bedroom (lots of variation on this one)
SGL BR – Single bedroom (again lots of variations on this one)
DW – Dishwasher
OFP – open fireplace
GDH – Gas ducted heating
A/C – air-conditioning
RC aircon – reverse cycle air-conditioning
SS RC aircon – split system reverse cycle air-conditioning
IG – in-ground, usually used to describe pools/spas
AG – above ground, usually used to describe pools/spas
BBQ – barbecue, the great aussie favourite :)
S/S or SS (usually accompanied by app or appl) – stainless steel appliances
Pol boards – polished boards
Sq – squares, a method of describing house area, not to be confused with square metres
