How does house buying work in Australia?

How does house buying work in Australia?

Could someone give me an idea of how the buying process differs to England? I understand they use alot of auctions - how does that affect things?

It varies greatly from state to state.

Where are you thinkig of buying? The more information you give in your questions to the forum, the easier it is to answer !!!

Bob

Sorry Canberra - still getting use to just how much varies state to state.

You also mentioned on another post that living in ACT is very different to the nearby NSW towns - could you give me some examples?

Thanks Karen

For buying a property in Victoria, there is a very good guide, available in PDF at www.consumer.vic.gov.au :)
