Hiya
The rental market in Brisbane is booming at the moment ,we pay $265pr week on a lovely 4 bed house in outer brisbane ,i have seen property cheeper but most now are costing around $300pr week.It does depend what area you go for ,nearer the coast and cbd they are probably abit more expensive .You will probably be able to get rent assistance from centrelink if you have a medium to low income ,with the trades your partner has i think he would find work in or around brisbane no problem. have a look at a website called 'our brisbane' as this has loads of info on and you will find it useful.
