agents

:?

I'm a nurse thinking of emigrating to Australia with my fiance. Should we go through an agent?

Why not look into it yourself first? Agents do help a lot of people, but if you're prepared to put the work in yourself by researching it and being really organised then you could save yourself some pennies. (There is always lots of free advice on this forum!!) But at the end of the day it's your decision to make, and I'm sure there will be lots of highs and lows whichever way you go.

Hi, We chose an agent (Immigration Downunder), although the cost may seem a lot, most of it is for TRA, medicals, Aussie Gov't, police checks, this that and the other, all of which you will need to shell out for if you go it alone.
The agents we used were terrific, they know what it's all about, the best way to word documents, and save a load of hassle and a degree of stress. I am self employed, and we got in on my trade, references and proof of ability was a bit of an issue, as there are no real qualifications for my line of work, it was all time served (17 yrs). But they are really hot on bits of paper over there, so this is where my agent really came through for us.
I would much rather pay a specialist to oversee the smooth passage of an application, rather than try and sort it all out myself.
I think the agents fees were around £800, there are 3 of us going, I think it was money well spent, but each to there own.
Good luck.
Rik
