5 months in Perth... our story so far

Hi PIO....
Not been on here for ages as been busy settling in to my new life in Perth. Just wanted to let you all know how its going..... Well, 5 months in and we are loving it. We left the UK on the 3rd of Jan, spent 2 days in Dubai then arrived in Perth on the 6th Jan. It was 42 degrees when we arrived, very hot but lovely. We were lucky enough to have friends to stay with until we found a rental. Rentals are difficult to come by at the moment in Perth but we struck lucky with a brand new house in Butler.

My husband got a job within the first week of us being here, (he was determined he would get one asap) I got one after 3 weeks. (im a nurse, hubbys a pipelayer)

I got Millie (age 3) into a local nursery in Quinns Rocks, she is really settled now.

We love our new life in Perth, yes things are expensive but you earn more..... The people are lovely, friendly, helpful, amazing beaches, loads to do with the children. Anyone reading this thinking of applying.... go for it.... anyone reading this heading to Perth, message me if you want any info..

my husband is waiting to here about getting a job with Bis, mining company, possibly settling in Perth, we have two children 8 and 10, I have been told by friends the rental market is a bit off a night mare, my concern is getting the right property near the right schools, any advice............ Many thanks Cathy
