Where to live Robina, Pelican Waters or North Lakes

We have finally emigrated to oz.
We looked around Brisbane first and we are now in Melbourne. We have decided as a family we preferred the Brisbane area and we are interested in living in one of three areas but want to hear some more information from people who live there to get a more of a clear picture as picking where to live is a draining task.

We r a family of five, Our kids are 22 , 15 and 7. So when picking where to live and finding all the things we want is a hard task. My Husband is a mechanical engineer however he is having trouble getting work here, so we have decided to settle and then get jobs after , i will get a full time job for the meantime to pay the bills.
So the areas we like are:-

Robina this is the girls Favorite as its on the gold coast , near the beach, Great houses and good shopping area. The girls can see themselves having more of a social life there and we want to keep them happy as keeps us happy.
Second, Pelican Waters; My Husband and i love it because it's near the beach and amenities, it's set back from the tourist area but however there is not many jobs there.

Then theres North lakes which is a great location for everything and has features we like.

We all like these area's but we now need to find good schools, know about good transport links, crime in these areas and really which area has the best lifestyle.
Any help and advice will be great as this is such a hard decision.
      Thanks
      Jane

Where are you hoping to find work? I personally love pelican waters however we know we'll have to live near where we find jobs as commutting in the rush hour can be a problem.
      Good luck!

      Hi Jane
all the areas you mention are popular with new migrants and all have their own ''good bits''. With older children i would personally check out Robina/ Varsity lakes as they would have easy access to everything older kids want, shops, nightlife etc etc.I think out of the 3 i would probably settle there.
North lakes is lovely and does have most ammenities close by, whilst Pelican Waters has some of the most stunning homes there i have ever seen in Australia but nearly everything is white, lol and it has a clinical feel IMO.
In your shoes i would check out all 3 places whilst job hunting and see which area offers the best prospects for your family and their needs.
Good Luck it will be a hard choice,
      Cal x
If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...
