Question Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast - Where is better to live???

      Hi there,

Im hoping to get some interesting answers to this one!

Where would you say is better to live....The Sunshine Coast or The Gold Coast?

If it depends on your family situation then, my husband is a roofer & we are coming with our boys aged 16 & 5 years now, so by the time we arrive they could be approx 17/18 & 6/7 years old.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
      Kelly.

I'd say the Gold Coast - for the kids. Nothing to do on the SC.

      Hi Kelly,
We decided on the Gold Coast mainly due to the fact that our kids would be 16/17 by the time we arrived and thought that there would be more for them to do there, yes it is quite commercialised but although thats not everyones cup of tea, the kids love all that stuff dont they? Anyway have also been to the Sunshine Coast and found it lovely there too, just different from the Gold Coast it does really depend on what you are looking for.
Good luck with wherever you choose.

For me the Sunshine coast is best. I checked out both areas and for us and our 8 year old thought the sunshine coast was better. It's more relaxed, but if I had teenage kids my perspective may have been different.

Like others have said, only you can decide.

Both places are beautiful in their own different ways,i agree with the others in that only you can decide,we had our hearts set on the sunny coast before we left the Uk but ended up nearer the Gold Coast.Id advise you to take a good look around both areas and then decide ,we find lots of familys who stay with us do this ,some have gone sunny coast ,some decide they like the Gold Coast better, maybe have a look where the jobs saeem to be and work from there ,a goos job site is www.seek.com ,hope this helps a bit

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...

      Wherever you decide,don't choose Brisbane.

It's old, run down and very boring.

Sunny coast is not too bad, good beaches but nightlife is rubbish, whereas the gold coast is quite nice also but surfers paradise is live chavsville on a weekend.

      Hi Kelly,

I know you read my post the other day about my experience, I would say your youngest will be happy in either location, it's your eldest who will feel most out of sorts. I'd advise you to think about his lifstyle, about what his interests and hobbies are, what he wants to do for a living, I found the pace of living is completly different in both areas, so much so you cant really compare, so depending on what kind of kid he is, I would consider that carefully because by the time you get there he wont even have the oppertunity to meet school buddies. I am leaning towards the G/C because I think there is more to offer youngsters, but it the S/C hands down for my hubby because it's simply beautiful and there are of course kids there!!!
I hope I haven't come accross negative or judgemental, it's just my opinion.
