Queensland v SA

I am currently in south Australia and am interested in peoples views of Queensland in Comparison.

So really I am asking has anyone lived in both that can directly compare the 2 as thinking of moving to either Queensland or Perth.

I do like a busy city with low crime nice green lush grass white sandy beaches things for kids and pubs/clubs for me and somewhere forward thinking.(not much then lol) Having problems with the backwards attitude and unwillingness to move on in SA which is good for some people but I guess you can take the boy out of London but you can't taken London out of the boy.

So far in SA I find it has no real city, not very green a bit run down in parts but low crime some nice beaches and some nice people. Far better than England but just wondered if it was better up there.

Any help would be appreciated ta

Not sure Queensland would tick your boxes either ,lol, my god can they be slow here ,theres no chance anything is getting done in a hurry no matter how desperate you are!!
Saying that Queensland can offer you the greenest scenery or the sandiest beaches ,there is something for everyone.I personally have never been to SA so cant really comment on comparisions but i have relocated familys from adeliade and melbourne both familys preffered it here and commented straight away how much cheaper things were here from houses to a bottle of milk!
sorry i cant help more

Cheaper!!!!! blimey. I figured it would be more expensive.

I actually don't mind the things taking a while to get done. I was prepared for the laid back attitude in OZ. The thing in Adelaide is the refusal to move on. I knew they were 20 years behind but wasn't ready for the fact they are so very happy to be there. (good for some people I guess just not for me) My employer (Govt) may be the worst for it.

Anyways I'm over it and still in the greatest country in the world. Just need to decide Perth or Queensland to bring my children up.

If you do holiday lets can you PM me some pic or details as need to sort a holiday in the next couple of months.

Cheers for the help. If there is any more bits of advice from anyone it will be appreciated.

bloody hell you must be joking houses are much cheaper in adelaide i have moved from adelaide after spending 2 and half years there to the sunshine coast it is greener and has lovely beaches but getting to your local shops or a bit of night life you have to travel quite abit it takes.my kids range from 14 to 6 months the older two was alway out in sa but find it hard to get out here transports grap were at least you can jump on the train into the city or go to your local cinema i must sound like i dont like it here i do but worry about the kids. brisbane might be the place to be with night life but to be honest i wouldnt want to bring kids up there it would be like going back to london. we moved for work reasons and like you was a bit feed up with sa but i can say the grass isnt always greener on the other side.

Wink

HI i am new to the forum as of today!!! i was reading this thread with interest as me and my husband also live in Adelaide and are looking to relocate to perth but have decided to visit queensland to also see what it has to offer. we too find SA a little frustrating with its unwillingness to move on, however for some this is very appealing. So for us we have been on holidays in the last few months just seeing what the rest of australia has to offer as we are sure it will remain our home. We are over in queenslands next weekend and it will be nice to now have something to compare it with as when we arrived in SA we didnt!!!!
