Brisbane Suburbs

Hi,

Moving to Brisbane area next year and trying to find out as much as possible about the suburbs in order to decide where to live.

We would need to be reasonably close to Brisbane in order to commute - hopefully on a rail link to avoid traffic issues and as we have a 5 year old son would like to be in an area with good schooling.

Have family who live in Eden's Landing.

Any helpful info would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Albany Creek is quite popular with familys and looks a lovely area,it also has easy train links to the city.Wynnum is another area that seems popular, more of a sea view and beach from there than albany creek.Do you have jobs in the city?

I am a nurse and was actually born in Australia - I am awaiting my first Australian passport - we will not be moving until next year (house to sell etc) and have plumped for Brisbane due to climate and job prospects.

Thank you, I have had a look at houses in Wynnum and Albany Creek and a go on google earth and both look really nice areas.
Does anyone know what the travelling times are from them both into the city?
We would like to avoid having to drive, given the traffic situation, so the Albany Creek train link is a big plus - however, like most UK movers we are unavoidably drawn to a beachside lifestyle so Wynnum has the edge there lol.

Sorry about all the questions but trying not to leave anything to chance and have found that this is the best site/community for answers.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

You can use the following to work out roughly travelling etc

RAC route planner

Trip planner - Get map directions and plan road trips with the RACQ Trip Planner - RACQ

Train times, prices etc

QR Citytrain - Brisbane's suburban rail network

might be good idea to add these to your favourites as well, will help in the online investigations

Google

Hi, no job yet, still working through red tape to get my passport - i need a name change certificate from births/deaths/mariages in Australia because I married in Uk and my name is now different from my Australian birth certificate, so this is causing major problems. Did you get a job, where you working?
