Question Granny Flats????

Hello!!

We're looking into putting up a Granny Flat. Now, we'v contacted the council which has told use that you can only do this if you have a dependant relative (elderly) however, they have also said that there maybe a way around it. Just wondering if there is anyone who has done this and could offer some advice on the best way to go. I'm reluctant to approach a builder's firm as I'm not sure if I'll get a real answer.

much appreciated,

Fil

We have looked into this and put in planning. We were told by the council that it would be authorised but as soon a granny leaves or dies we will have to pull it down.

Can't you just call it a sleepout or teenagers retreat?
