Jimboomba, upper coomera and yarrabilba

Hi

We are looking to move next year.

I like the look of a couple of places : Jimboomba (flatstone) , upper coomera and Yarrabilba ( proposed new land estate).

If anyone has got any information of these areas e.g. senior schools, internet provision and things to do in the area for 2 teenage girls, i would be grateful.

thanks

Hiya im on flagstone and love it here ,for me i love that all the schools are together in the middle of the estate ,(pre, primary &high),within walking distance of lots of propertys and on the school bus route for the others. We have the blue light disco up in jimboomba every 4 th friday night and there is more out of school activites than your kids could possibly do .I have wireless broadband with bigpond and find it works ok,mobile reception can be hit and miss sometimes but no major problems. We are 15 mins to the new shopping centre at springfield lakes or the grand plaza at browns plains,7 mins into the ever growing jimboomba centre but we do have a small selection of shops already on the estate.
You can be in the city or at surfers paradise in under an hour and we have easy access to all highways,,hope this helps a bit .now over to someone at the other places, lol

Hi,
We currently live in Upper Coomera (my self, hubby and our two children 6&9),we are renting at the mo whilst our house is being built in Ormeau (Jacobs Ridge- development by stockland). There are 3 private schools and one state which goes from prep to year 12 in upper coomera (our two children attend the state school and are doing well.),there are after school clubs and sports practices before school also in the next town Oxenford there is a youth centre which does martial arts and other activities. We like it this side of the mountains because you don't need to travel far if you want to goto the beach or Brisbane and the theme parks are right nexr door great for big kids and little kids.We looked at Jimboomba and found it was too far out (saying that it was a lovely area) but if you are from a village type enviroment then you will love it .
Good luck with everything hope this helps
Abi

Hi there,
Upper coomera is a great place, with all the theme parks on your doorstep.
Throughout the year they offer special affordable deals on the parks for yearly passes,so being on their doorstep helps running the kids there and picking them up,and going yourself i suppose! lol.
My mate lives there in a beautiful big house with with a pool and a good set of neighbours around him.(Aussie and Pommie!) LOL.
Highland reserve are still selling lots and that is only 20 minutes from the beaches and surfers paradise, which is just fantastic.
Yarrabilba is a bit further out so you will need to travel a bit to get to the main places, but it a growing community and not too far from Surfers or Brissie.
Jimboomba is nothing to write home about really, remote and isolated although there seems to be a good community spirit there. You will probably get the least expensive houses in jimboomba,it's got a country feel to it,nice and peacefull mind you!LOL.
Good luck with the move, get over here and start living the dream!
