Would we need car if accomodation in gold coast near theme parks?

Hi All,

Can you tell me is it essential to hire a car if located in Gold Coast (say near the theme parks)? Could we bus it to other areas of interest. Or are the main attractions in a set area anyway. Want to see if can save money by not hiring car when we visit

Hi the Gold Coast is set up for the tourist, you can get a bus from your hotel to and from the worlds. You wont need a car unless you want to visit friends. For all the touristy stuff busses are fine
Good luck and enjoy your time

Les & Woz is on a distinguished road
Hi
We went to Gold Coast twice last year. First time had no car and got around OK but didn't go to any of the theme parks apart from Sea World which is on the coast. 2nd time hired a car which we found very useful. Probably matter of choice but you could always hire a car for a few days rather than the whole time. Add up the bus, taxi fares, etc.may be same price to hire a car for the day.
Les

joetrac will become famous soon enough
Abel hire cars at very chep rates...$29 per day for a little run around..brand new too... for a taxi to my local train station its $19 .By the time you pay for buses and Taxis ect you might be cheaper hiring a car.
