Hi,My wife and i and our wee boy are hoping to get to Brisbane for the middle of Sept, I am leaving my golf club here in Edinburgh, What i am wondering is, what is the policy for joining a club out in Oz is it the same as here i.e Waiting list,member referral, joining fee etc, can anyone help with any info maybe recommend a few good courses, i know for a fact that my oh would want me to join another club when we get out as she enjoys her peace and quiet away from me .

It all depends what part of brisbane you live in. we just moved here in jan and played at a couple of clubs as a visitor, Using our victorian golf club memberhip for our handicap.
The memberships are a lot more expensive here than in victoria and you have to pay a joining fee then annual subscription which can range from $700pa to thousands of $ pa.
There are some hackers clubs where you dont have to book and can just rock up for a social game. I think its basicaly the same but i dont know how long the wait is.
