This concerns me as we are coming over with a year old King Charles Spaniel and a 9 year old cat and we would like to rent for 6 months at least.
I know newspaper reports tend to dramatise situations so I would like to know what the real situation is like if possible.
I have read some previous posts on this subject where agreeing to spray the house when you leave might just swing it but if it was that easy why are people reportedly finding it difficult.
This is a big deal to us as our pets are our family and there is absolutely no way they are not staying as part of our life. Just looking for a bit of reassurance, I guess.

We found when we got here that by offering to pay an animal bond in addition to the normal bond that is required with rentals, we got some offers on rentals that before had been advertised as "no pets". Maybe worth trying when you arrive and find one you like.
Did'nt find a problem here getting a rental with animals. There is a group of petshops on Gold Coast where the owners have investment properties that the owners will only rent to pet owners. If you ain't got a pet , you cant rent one of her houses!!!!!!!!!!!!
