Is the humidity unbarable ?
we have 2 boys aged 2+ 5 are they places for familys ?, by that i mean are they lots of activities, preschools, family friendly places to eat etc...

I have looked on the councils web sites and a few other sites but there dosent seem to be a wealth of info also do you feel isolated being so far away from a major city?

Have a 101 questions, but i will stop at this for now

Hi
We've got friends in Eimeo, Mackay which is a lovely area. We visited them in March just after the flood. The locals were shocked. It was the worst flood they had known for many years. A freak flood i think. We were gonna base ourselves there but there wasn't the opportunities we wanted for our work (mental health nurse and electrician). We thought the area was very friendly, safe and pretty. Mackay marina was lovely and the city had a village feel to it. There are a few quiet lovely beaches around. We looked around Emmanuel Catholic School which was fabulous (a real plus) and Eimeo Road School. Finch Hatton Gorge was lovely and the area is very laid back. Our friends left the keys in the car while we walked along the beach, which amazed us. The humidity was bearable although it had reduced due to the flood. Hope this helps.
Luv Wendy
