      Hi.

How much land are you talking? 1 acre? Or 11 acres? Or loads more?

We too will be looking for a bit of land with our property. South Gold Coast you can pick up for reasonable money, places with one or two acres. Tamborine, which is further up Gold Coast you can get anything from 1 acre upwards (seen properties with 20+acres) for even less money. Have you looked on realestate.com and other similar websites? That's where I tend to look for inspiration and then tie up the location on a detailed map of Queensland.

Sorry if that's no help, but I didn't want to not write this in case it is helpful!

      Wink Rural Area's in Queensland

      Hi Kate,
That is a great help, can you give me some names of the areas round the south gold coast that you have looked at.We would be looking at around 2 to 4 acres.I have looked at some in Tamborine which looked nice, even for renting they where good value.
Is there a reason you are wanting somewhere with land.

Have a look at Maclean,South Maclean,Beaudesert,Jimboomba,Canungra, all them are are under an hour to the beach. If yopu want acerage for animals and go for smaller acerage(1 or 2 acres) make sure its the correct zoning,im pretty sure you need residential rural b(we did for horses around here).Down towards NSW there is Springbrook which also has acerage, hope this helps a bit

If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place...
If you get a chance, take it, If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it would be easy they just said it would be worth it...

The further west you go, the nearer to Alabama you get.

We lived 5 hrs drive west of Sydney for several years... drove my OH nuts, she hated it. It just amused me... mostly.

We both grew up in rural Lancs but despite the towns population in Aus being 8x bigger than the town we grew up in... it was by far more insular in reality. Not in terms of facilities... no problem there.

I'd say anywhere up to 2 hours drive from the metro areas or 1 hour from the coast genrally is going to suit anyone?

      Hi Gwen,
Sorry for the delay. We want a couple of acres just for ourselves really. No pets! Although we do plan to have a dog once we are settled. My husband and kids love space and being outdoors. We've been looking at areas such as and around, Elanora, Currumbin, Tallebudgera, etc. Just do a google search for Gold Coast map and you'll see the areas just above the border of NSW. They are quite residential but off the main tourist part, so I really don't know what the deal would be with keeping horses in your garden!!!!
I know these areas are really close to the beach.
My dad emailed me some details of a property in Toogoom which had about 20 acres part of this being absolute beach frontage! I think Toogoom is much further North.

So I suppose again it depends where you want and what you want!

Try Sunshine Coast hinterland-Beerwah, Maroochy river, Maleny, Mapleton....
Finally realised where home is-and can't wait to get back there !
