things we must see and do

Hello everybody,
We will be visiting queensland in april for 3 weeks and would be grateful for your opinions on things to see and do when we validate in april.
We will be concentrating our search on a 90 minute radius of brisbane so we would love some ideas .
Thanks

it is 2 hrs north - but Noosa is lovely. great national park where you can walk through the iguanas on the floor, koalas in the trees and see dolphins in the water. some nice places to sit and eat there and it is a classy place.

if you want slightly less class (wait for the abuse on this one) then head to surfers down south. quite funny. there is a water theme park on the way down there that might be entertaining for the kids. (l liked it anyway!) not sure if it will be open at that time - but it might be!

not meaning to offend anyone who might say that surfers is the best place ever or anything - in my opinion the palce made me laugh with the fairy lights in the palm trees!

We stayed here - amazing views from the rooms
morning star motel maleny

There is a really good walk nearby where you can see animals and here the most amazing bird sounds.

It's a nice place to escape the heat of Brisbane..............

Hi, Surfers Paradise is a great place to visit; it's not the classiest perhaps, but it is fun. I like the fairy lights, think they're pretty- they are clear ones, not multicoloured- that would be trashy!
Q1 is supposedly really good (still haven't been up!)- an observation deck where you can see for miles. There's loads of shops, boat trips etc, and the beach is excellent. You can go on the Aquaduck, a bus/boat that drives you around Surfers, then into the water for a cruise around.
Most of the theme parks are on the Gold Coast too; our kids love Dreamworld and Seaworld. There's also Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, on the southern end of the Gold Coast, great for kangaroos, koalas and such. Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast is a bit of a must see.
Brisbane has art galleries, museums etc, plus the man-made Streets beach- depends what you like, kids ages etc.
Have a great trip, so much to do around here.

If you like spectacular views, go up Tamborine Mountain. The views from up there are breath taking. Also just down the road from there is Natural Bridge, wonderful walk through the rain forrest and to see a naturally formed bridge. Surprisingly it isn't full of tourists.
Seaworld, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild are a must. Buy a pass to all three at the same time and you can go into each of them as much as you want. Also when you buy your pop in one of the big plastic beakers you get all you refills free!
Got to agree with one of the comments about Surfers. I found it a bit tacky , just and upgraded version of Blackpool. (I'm ready to dodge the bullets).
Most of all, enjoy your trip.

Best regards

The Tuckers

O'Reilly's in Lamingtom National Park if you want to see some sub-tropical rain forrest. They have cabins, a resturant and a bar. There's plenty of day walks to suit all levels of fitness. Its a bit pricey so you can camp in the NP to save money. The drive into the place is an experience in itself. I recommend a day visit at least. I've heard Binna Burra is pretty good also?

Where's your quote from? You can buy direct at myfun.com.au, maybe cheaper depending on who quoted you? You can get different combinations of parks/days. You can get passes for two or three parks etc. Obviously youngest free! My kids (4, 3 and 15 months) love Dreamworld best, which is not included in your pass . Seaworld is great, Movieworld okay but quite small.

Yes it is without a doubt. You'll spend all day there and have a great time. We actually went to seaworld twice as our youngest went on a boat trip fishing with his mam and me and the eldest went swimming with the sharks. Great fun you'll love it.
