Brisbane bound in April 2008 (Help)

Hi everyone,

Im new to this site so bear with me.
Basically myself, my wife and 2 boys (aged 3 and 1) are tying up all lose ends here in Portsmouth,England ready for us to activate our visa's in Brisbane/Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast area in mid April 2008.

My main dilema is finding some temporary accomadation for when we arrive to give me time to find work and sort out all necessary paperwork etc. (Any suggestions?)

I am a fully trained Plater/Fabricator (Boilermaker) and have teaching/training experience and qualifications in this field also, and ideally would like to carry on passing my knowledge on to apprentices when i arrive in oz. (Any suggestions?)

We as a family are very excited and nervous and hoping we are making the right move in our emigration to oz.

Any advise or help would be much appreciated

We are activating our visa in april too,we have booked a 3 bdroomed house in the centre of brisbane he has 2 houses not sure if the other one is empty try his website brisbanebound.com if you dont have any luck there try cal who is a moderater on this forum i think she is situated about an hour south of brisbane and offers short term rental also ,good luck

Hi Richard & Sally,
We stayed in Robs house in Carina last year, it was very nice, clean and had everything you need, barbie aswell.
Know he has one in Hendra which looks bigger than Carina but that was already booked up when we wanted it. Good to know that he is still in the rental business as we will need another rental when we validate at the end of the year. Kind Regards Alison x

hi we also live in portsmouth and are heading to brisbain in th next couple of months. at the moment we are trying to sell our house!!!!!! what a nightmare. when we get out there we will be staying with my sister in law, who lives in mooloolaba. im a bricklayer and my other half is a dental nurse so we to would like to find work asap. what part of brisbain are you looking for. oh have you booked your flight yet? if so who are you flying with? good luck
