The isolation, so they say, is what concerns my wife and for the kids they need plenty to do. Billy Braveheart has made a very good point in comparison to London and the Midlands. Perth does have everything it needs. Yes it's far apart from other cities but so what ? A cheap plane ride can sort that.

Perth - the climate for a start is perfect. No funnel webs also. Good Beaches. That sways me. (Nearer Britain but personally I'd prefer to be as far away from the place as I can be )

Brissy - I believe gets dark just after 7pm all the time ?? Is this correct ? Funnel Web zone ? Lot of rain, storms ?? Hot climate which I like.

Melbourne - Cooler weather during Winter but nice all the same. Plenty do do appaently.

Sydney - Some Floods, expensive ? Weather warmer than Melbourne. Funnel web zone.

So there are fors and againsts wherever you want to go. At the moment it's Perth or Melbourne for us but to be honest if I managed to get something in Sydney or Brissy then I would not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Just applied for a load of Rail Jobs all over the place to try and get Sponsorship. Fishing rod at the ready and already had one bite from ARG at Perth.

I cant really comment on Perth yet, but Im going over there in May and cant wait. I looks so beautiful. I have heard from people that have moved there that it really is a love/hate place, still not sure why??? I really think it boils down to what you are looking for and what type of people you want to be surrounded with, being that we are all looking for different things and people, as well as the beauty of the destination make the place great to live. I cant see how Perth is isolated, its a city! Surely it must have everything??? Good luck with your decision, maybe you could let your husband choose which part of australia you are going to live in!!

WA has everything you need and the climate is better the maximum humidity we get is about 60% tops and Brisbane is about 90% and we find 60% too much too handle and its only on odd days (extremely odd days). We have a lovely cool breeze every afternoon and yes its far from the other cities but seriously how often would you travel to Sydney if you lived in Brisbane its still got all the hassle of getting on a plane or driving a long way.....
