moving to Northern Gold Coast

Well, im not really a 'newbie', ive lived in Western Sydney for 2 1/2 years now. But if any of you have ever lived in Western Sydney, it's not much different to living back in the UK. All my Fiance's family are in NSW, which was why we moved here originally. We are now looking elsewhere, and like the look of the Ormeau/Coomera, Northern Gold Coast region. I work in Inventory in large scale distribution warehouses, so I can only really work in the main centre's, the main warehouses in Brisbane appear to be in Carole Park, which looks only a 30-40 minute drive.

Can anyone advise of the best areas in this region?, as there seems to be a few poms in this area which would be a good move, although my Aussie fiance might not agree, but she's had her fill of Sydney also.

What sort of property, plot size, price range are you looking for? how far do you want to be from beaches, shops and schools? Coomera and its surronds are lovely and developing quick but theres also lots of areas nearer to carole park that are great too it just means a 30/40 min drive to the beach!!

We'd be happy to rent for the first year or so, as we are only renting in Sydney at the moment. The halfway between the beach, halfway to Brisbane which I think Ormeau has was what atracted my attention. I just wanted to get an iside knowledge of the area, as it all appears good from reading some previous posts. good access to good Shops, pubs and hopefully in a few years Schools would also be a benefit.

What areas nearer Carole Park would you recommend also?

there are too many areas to list ,springfield lakes is a lovely family area with lots of new houses on smaller size plots, sinnamon park isnt too far away, forest lakes has everything most people want and of course here Flagstone ,Jimboomba!lol,,theres coomera (and upper coomera),Mt warren park,Jacobs well, yatala which are all lovely areas nearer to ormerau, the best advice i can give at the moment is do whatever to avoid the ipswich motorway,,its a nightmare at rush hour!,Personally id rent somewhere for a few weeks and have a good drive around areas before tying yourselves into a 6/12mth let.
