anyone north of brisbane

My husband has had a telephonic interview and has been put forward for a job in a meat plant. They have 3 locations : Toowoomba, Townsville and Rockhampton. Is there anyone out there who can shed a bit of light on what its like outside the Big cities. Is there still plenty of things for the kids to do, especially soccer clubs, not aussie rules.

wow...there all a long way from each for a start....all nice places....i'm not that far up...caboolture/bribie island redcliffe area this way...40 min to brissy...20 to the beach...not too hot..not too cold...but all those places have lots to do for parents and kids..there not outback places..and getting crowded by the day..hope all goes well for you's..ooroo...

Townsville is nice, a big town. Has plenty to do, but hot in summer along with tropical storms and rain every day and nice and warm through winter. About a 12-14 hour drive non stop from Brisbane. Hosuing is short up there. Hard to rent a place.

Rockhampton, smaller then Townsville, about 6 hours north of Brisbane. Has all the things you need.

Toowoomba, the closest of the 3 places to Brisbane city and suburbs. About a 90 minute drive to brisbane itself. About 45 mins to Ipswich which is on the outer suburbs of Brisbane.

All places will have clubs, sports etc for the kids. Townsville is very laid back. Rocky is ok and Toowoomba is a big town near the city.

Can anyone advise on the rates of pay for electricians doing general repair work,and on new build sites in QLD.
Is there a high demand north or south of Brissy for sparks???
